About the Artist
mikibeautree's work explores the expanding possibilities of two-dimensional painting through the fusion of analog and digital techniques.
After graduating from the printmaking course at Nagoya University of the Arts, she has been drawing inspiration from the layered structures found in both printmaking and digital software, and has been pursuing a creative approach built on the layering of forms and imagery.
Influenced by Japanese art, Post-Impressionism, animation, and mythology, her work creates a world where opposing elements—light and darkness, surface and depth, familiarity and strangeness—coexist.
Her ongoing project, "Arte and Polari," is her own original creative world, centered on a story that begins with the encounter of two beings living in different realms.
Through this project, she explores what becomes possible when stepping beyond the "familiar territory." It is both a pursuit of new techniques and a question of how to dissolve the boundary between the painting and the viewer standing before it.

名古屋芸術大学の版画コースを卒業後、彼女は版画やデジタルソフトウェアの多層的な構造に着想を得て、レイヤーを重ねることを基盤とした制作手法を追求してきました。
日本美術、ポスト印象派、アニメーション、神話などに影響を受け、彼女の作品は光と闇、表面と奥行き、親しみと異質といった対極的な要素が共存する世界を創り出しています。
現在進行中のプロジェクト「アルテとポラリ」は、異なる領域に住む二つの存在が出会うことから始まる物語を軸にした、彼女独自の創作世界です。
このプロジェクトを通じて、彼女は「慣れ親しんだ領域」を一歩踏み出したときに何が可能になるのかを探求しています。それは、新たな技法の追求であると同時に、絵画と、その前に立つ鑑賞者との間にある境界をいかにして溶かしていくかという問いでもあります。
