Sunset, the Beginning of a New Day

Sunset, the Beginning of a New Day continued from Through an Eternal Early Summer, held the previous year at the same Gallery Nenohoshi. 

Within the pattern-like scenery of The Breath series, human and bear-like figures began to appear, here unfolding into the quiet gentleness of a night forest. In 2021, with the pandemic still unresolved, the show offered a counterpart to that light-seeking predecessor, carrying the message that "darkness is nothing to fear." A change of viewpoint turns a line into a plane, and the depth of darkness makes light all the brighter — and the narrative elements that emerged here would, in time, lead toward Arte and Polari.
